Casa de Suenos
Taos
The two bedroom suites, which are at separate ends of the house, have new queen and king beds with plush new linens and towels. The master bath has a jacuzzi and walk in shower as well as a full bathroom next to the guest room suite.
The living room offers common area sleeping options, a futon and sofa bed with memory foam in the living room.
A welcoming hot tub sits just outside in a private courtyard accessible through the kitchen or bedroom.
The kitchen is fully equipped with quality cookware, a gas stove and cook top, a full refrigerator/freezer with filtered water and and a large gas grill outside the door on the patio to cook while you're enjoying the mountain views.
A beautiful kiva fireplace warms the living room with plenty of seating to enjoy from three plush couches as well as a large fire pit outdoors.
Casa de Suenos is artist-owned with original colorful Southwest paintings in all the rooms and many cultural touches from our world travels. The home also includes a working studio and gallery of oil paintings by owner and painter Julie Nilsson. Access is with a key provided and visitors are welcome to see current work and what is available for purchase. We can assist with shipping if needed.
Additional amenities include a 42" TV, DVD library and player, fiber optic internet with speed of 45-50 MBS, full stereo system, new washer/dryer with laundry soap provided, iron and ironing board, toaster, micro-wave, coffee pot, pack and play, jacuzzi tub and private shower in the master bath.
Enjoy the peace of the quiet surroundings, and catch views of the stars and Milky Way in the evenings here. The sage covered mesa has an old road, immediately accessible from our acreage, which invites cycling, jogging or walking all the way to the Rio Grande Gorge if you like, with views of the mountains around Taos, the Jemez Mountains far to the southwest near Los Alamos and the far western horizon.
The owners visit their Taos home on a regular basis and as a result, it is very well maintained. They are always thinking about what upgrades they need to make - for themselves as well as you.

Repeat Visit Just as Sweet
by Joell GMy daughter and I had a repeat weekend away at Casa de Sueños. We stayed in 2023 and couldn't imagine any other place we'd rather stay on our second trip to Taos. The home is just perfect with the saltillo tile, wood beams, and gorgeous views. Julie's art in the home is what first attracted us to the property, so we both decided to purchase a piece from her on-site gallery. I'm so glad we did. This visit, we enjoyed the firepit and Adirondack chairs, while our last visit was focused on the private hot tub of the master bedroom. We witnessed about 6 shooting stars our first night there and went to bed with achy necks from looking at the millions of stars. You won't be disappointed. I love this home and my daughter agrees. ❤️ Thank you for making your home available for such a wonderful mother/ daughter trip.
Thank you so much Joell,
We loved having you back, and are so glad you love both the home, the art and of course, Taos! Hope we will get you back for visit number three next year.
Nice Escape to Taos

Winter Break
by Patrick HLocation was convenient to skiing, the Rio Grande gorge walking path, earthship museum and to good eats. Enjoyed our stay with great Taos Mountain and sunset views. Walked the road and arroyo nearby to see more of El Prado neighborhood. Thanks for sharing this home. Decor and art well done! Also an excellent eclectic movie collection… likely the only place in town you can enjoy a viewing of Barraka!
Winter Retreat
by Nora HFour years in-a-row. Our perfect place for downtime and skiing. Fabulous! Also love all the books available to read. Recently discovered that Anne Hillerman continues her dad’s series, so it was neat to go back and reread “Dance Hall of the Dead” copyright 1973, to remind me why I fell in love with this series and to compare/contrast with Anne’s style. This home is just super beautiful! Love the art everywhere. What a balm!
Thoroughly Enjoyed Casa de Sueños
by Michele EMy family spent a long weekend at Casa Suenos and had a great experience. House is beautiful, clean and comfortable. Kitchen has everything you need and an awesome hot tub under the stars. Plus, beautiful artwork throughout the house.
A Place to Fall in Love With
by Patti HAbsolutely beautiful place! Prettier than the pictures posted! Furnishings inside and out, artwork, comfortable surroundings, all were outstanding. Gorgeous view of the mountains. If you prefer to "get away from it all", this is the place!
Quiet Getaway
by AnonymousVery nice and peaceful property. It’s in a bit of a remote area which is exactly what we were looking for. There are neighbors but far away enough that you still feel secluded. Taos plaza is a short drive away! Nice little yard for our dog plus the wide open area close to a trail. Dog loved it and we very much enjoyed our stay!
Celebrating our 44th Wedding Anniversary
by John and BambiWe enjoyed celebrating our 44th wedding anniversary in this beautiful home. Love the artwork, and we also love the hot tub and the wonderful windows to be able to view the mountains. We are so glad we chose this place for our stay. John & Bambi
Gem in the Desert
by Stephanie RThis home was an absolute delight! I can’t say enough good things about it! From the gardens surrounding the home, to the spectacular view, the tasteful decor, the incredibly well stocked kitchen, the fabulous art in the on-site art gallery, and the attentive property manager. We will definitely be back! Thank you for such a lovely stay in Taos.
Priceless Mountain Views
by Bruce PThe property was a pleasure to stay at. We normally stay at luxury bread and breakfast inns, so this was our first experience as a couple staying in a Vrbo property. It was on par, if not better, than the inns we usually stay in. The artwork was amazing and the property was clean, organized and everything worked properly. The stars at night from the private hot tub are amazing! Overall it was a very relaxing and pleasurable experience. The house was exactly as described, but the picture on the website is a little outdated as it does not show the house being in a neighborhood, but that was not a drawback to us. It is good that the homes are far apart and all the neighbors were quiet with no disturbances. The kitchen is fully equipped with everything needed if you desire to prepare a meal. Every room in the house is spacious and the closets have ample space for everything. Every window in the house has a beautiful view. There was good water pressure and on-demand hot water. The weather ranged from the upper 30's to the mid 70's and was ideal. The home is in a great location just 5-10 minutes away from Taos amenities and 20 - 45 minutes away from mountain activities. We had a special treat one evening watching the abundant lightning over the mountains - outstanding!
What a Magical Location
by Craig DWe spent a month in Taos, and we could not have been happier with our choice of homes. It’s remote enough to experience the open skies and peaceful quiet of Taos, but close enough to town that running in for groceries or a meal takes only a few minutes. We had family and friends stay with us for a few days at a time, and the open floor plan and separate sleeping areas were perfect for guests. One of the best parts of our experience was the walking trail behind the house, which goes on for miles and eventually takes you to the Rio Grande Gorge (though we never mare it that far). We travel with our dog, and having that trail for him to explore with us was invaluable. Finally, we really appreciated Wendy’s communication and responsiveness when we had questions. That’s how you run a rental home! We look forward to another visit to Casa de Suenos in the future.
